The exhibition will be launched in Zhejiang Art Museum on December 28, 2018. The Biennale is divided into four chapters: "Hengshan", "Diengjing", "Walking Songs" and "Fragrance".
Exhibition has academic principle of "authentic, open with ancient flavor". "Screen" is used to show the special cultural value and traditional appreciation habits, mining the symbol of "screen" form and combing traditional Chinese painting style on the extension of new development of contemporary Chinese painting. The exhibition aims to research relationship between painting and Chinese culture construction, recreating the classical context of the development of history of Chinese art to promote the diversified contemporary Chinese painting.
According to nomination by curators Gao Shiming, Cheng Ping and Zhangjie of the fifth Chinese Painting Biennale of Hangzhou, and further recommendations and decisions by art committee of the second session, a total of 38 representative artists getting an invitation to the 5th biennial in the contemporary Chinese painting.
