Training Class for Business Backbones from Art Museums in the Province Is Held in Hangzhou

A training class for business backbones from art museums in the province, sponsored by Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and organized by ZJAM, was held at Westlake Hillview International Hotel in Hangzhou from December 24 to 26.

On the morning of December 25, Wang Miaomiao, a Grade-4 investigator from the Art Division of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, as well as Ying Jinfei, curator of ZJAM, Du Qun, secretary of the Party General Branch and deputy curator of ZJAM, Qian Cheng and Yu Liangfeng, deputy curator of ZJAM, attended the opening ceremony with more than 70 business backbones from art museums (art galleries and celebrity halls) in 11 cities across the province. The opening ceremony was moderated by Cai Dong, deputy director of the Office of ZJAM. 

Wang Miaomiao delivered a mobilization speech on behalf of the Art Division of Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. She stressed that the business backbones from art museums in the province should further improve their theoretical literacy, professional level, leadership and organizational capability through the training. She also expected them to communicate, help and learn from each other, openly embrace the good way of learning by combing theory with practice, promote the healthy development of art undertakings in the province, and make positive contributions to the construction of Zhejiang as a cultural province.

After the opening ceremony, Du Qun gave a special lecture on how to study and put into actions the message of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Party. She also particularly interpreted the Settings and Service Specifications of Public Art Museums in Zhejiang Province. She noted that the Service Specifications absorb and adopt relevant national and provincial industry regulations that have been promulgated and implemented in recent years and clearly prescribe building facilities, service resources, service content, comprehensive management, service improvement, etc. on the basis of extensively soliciting opinions from all parties. It provides a basis and reference for strengthening the settings and service specifications and improving the service quality in art museums at all levels in the province.

On the afternoon of December 25, Liao Peng, deputy curator of Jiangsu Art Museum, gave an academic lecture under the title of “Standard Specifications, Quality and Innovation—Promote the Construction and Development of High-quality Public Art Museums”. The lecture elaborates the construction standards of public art museums, the evaluation standards of national key art museums, lighting design specifications of art museums, and the registration and acquisition of collections.

On the morning of December 26, Ying Jinfei, curator of ZJAM, gave an academic lecture under the title of “Inheritance and Conception—A Multi-Dimensional Pattern in the Humanistic Construction of Art Museums”. Based on the exhibitions, construction of collection system, and personal creation cases of ZJAM, the lecture deeply interpreted the multiple thinking modes of art, the boundary of innovation, and artistic language. He stressed that artistic creation should pursue subversive breakthroughs in the nature of art based on basic laws and attach importance to art language forms that express emotions. He indicated that for exhibitions and collections of art museums, deep planning should be made and original brands should be promoted. He suggested collecting theme-related works and hosting tour exhibitions at home and abroad to highlight traditional cultures and comprehensively enhance the cultural confidence of Chinese art. He also introduced the series exhibitions of Nanshan 138 and Oriental Wisdom of ZJAM to train young artistic professionals and put forward “Five Dos and Five Don’ts” for building collection systems in art museums.
