Pang Xunqin, (1906—1985),born in Changshu, Jiangsu province, is a famous modern painter, craft artist and educator. He studied art in France in 1925, and after returning to China,—“he founded Jue Lancommunity, ”,which was an academic community of declaration and principle. The community absorbed essence of western modernist art, which was the first one of its kind in Chinese modern art history. Pang Xunqin has been appointed as a professor of CAFA and Zhongshan University, and he has been the planner of a Central Academy of Craft Art in 1953. In 1956, he has been a professor and the primary vice director since the founding of Central Academy of Craft Art.
Based on the national tradition, he absorbed western essence of art constantly. Good at oil painting, watercolor painting and line drawing, he was the pioneer of Chinese modern art as well as the pioneer of modern arts and crafts.Co-organized by Zhejiang Art Museum and Pang
