“Land of Poetry and Paintings” — Tour Exhibition of Art Works by Zhang Huafeng Is Opened at ZJAM

On the afternoon of August 12, 2018, “Land of Poetry and Paintings - Tour Exhibition of Art Works by Zhang Huafeng” was opened at ZJAM. Officials and guests present at the opening ceremony included Chen Zhenlian, vice chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and vice president and secretary general of Xiling Society of Seal Arts; Zhang Weiwen, former chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial Political Consultative Conference; Xiao Feng, former president of China Academy of Art; Professor Wu Shanming of China Academy of Art; Zhang Song, former chairman of Anhui Artists Association; Guo Hangjian from BC University of Canada; Zhou Zhongbin, chairman of the Wuhan University of Communication of Tumyu Group. At the opening ceremony, Zhang Song, former chairman of the Anhui Artists Association, and Chen Zhenlian, vice president and secretary general of Xiling Society of Seal Arts, delivered speeches respectively. The artist Zhang Huafeng gave a thank-you speech. The exhibition is put on in Hall No. 5 and 6 until August 21, 2018.

Zhang Huafeng, MA in Fine Arts, graduated from Renmin University of China. He is currently the dean and professor of the School of Fine Arts of Wuhan University of Communication and a member of Xiling Society of Seal Arts. He demonstrates a unique style in Chinese ink painting. His works often fully occupy the canvas without empty space. He is good at showing dazzling space, light and shadow, yin and yang, and texture of Chinese painting. This exhibition, themed “Landscape of Poetry and Paintings” (《诗画江山》), features more than 60 selected works that are most representative and exploratory. His ink paintings incorporate the oil painting language and change the inherent visual effects of Chinese painting. His ink art form has a unique style for combining Chinese and Western elements.
