On June 5, the signing and inauguration ceremony of the “Base for Party Building and Ideological and Political Education and Study Tour in the New Era” and the “Base for Aesthetics Education Practice” jointly constructed by ZJAM and Hangzhou City University (HCU) was held in the University of Waikato Joint Institute at HCU. The two parties signed the Agreement of ZJAM and HCU on Cooperation in the Base for Party Building and Ideological and Political Education and Study Tour and the Base for Aesthetics Education Practice, and held the inauguration ceremony, which officially signaled the cooperation between the two organizations. Guests attending the signing ceremony included Curator Ying Jinfei and Deputy Curator Qian Cheng of ZJAM; Dong Shangsheng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Dean of School of Law, Lu Mingchuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Dean of School of Marxism, Ma Qing, Secretary of the Party Committee of PE and Aesthetics Education Department and Sciences Center, and Deputy Director of PE and Aesthetics Education Department, HCU; Hu Chao, Director of the Public Extension Department and Office, and Wu Jiayu of the Public Extension Department, ZJAM; Zhao Ziyun of the General Office of School of Marxism, as well as teacher and student representatives of HCU. The signing ceremony was moderated by Huang Sufen, Secretary of the Party Committee of PE and Aesthetics Education Department and Sciences Center, and Director of PE and Aesthetics Education Department.

First of all, Ying Jinfei highlighted in his speech that ZJAM is a national art museum that was built under the promotion of General Secretary Xi Jinping himself, who also selected the site, attended the groundbreaking ceremony, and pressed the button to commence the construction process during his tenure in Zhejiang. Ying Jinfei emphasized that ZJAM, as a key national art museum, engages in diversified business beyond exhibition and display of arts works, including academic research, aesthetics education, and cultural services. He expected this cooperation to connect the unique characteristics and strengths of HCU and ZJAM, expand into wider fields, dig deep, and foster a more integrated joint construction model.

Lu Mingchuan began his speech by extending his congratulations to the cooperation of the two organizations in the bases for practice and study tour. He said that this event would provide students with an opportunity to engage more intimately with ZJAM. Furthermore, the “Mobile Ideological and Political Course” would take the students to appreciate and experience aesthetics in the art museum, where they would be immersed in the realm of aesthetics and explore the charm of aesthetics education practice. The signing of the cooperation agreement on Grain in Ear, one of the solar terms, marked the joint effort in sowing the seeds of aesthetics education. He expected to nurture and develop these seeds in collaboration with the students in the future.

Following the signing and inauguration ceremony, Curator Ying Jinfei delivered a thematic lecture titled Public Reconstruction of Aesthetics Education to the teachers and students of HCU. The lecture consisted of four aspects: “Aesthetic and Cultural Genes”, “De-aesthetics”, “Aesthetics as an Approach to the Development of Individual Systematic Personality”, and “Public Reconstruction of Aesthetics”.
